August Board of Health Meeting

Minutes 

Attendance: Aaron Langlois, Ariana O’Neill, Diana VanOudenhove

Location:  Oakham Town Hall 2 Coldbrook Road, Oakham, MA 01068

COVID-19 Update (Case # Review and Status of Public Health Nurse)

Delta variant are on the rise

Individuals who have had vaccines tested positive.

13 cases since 7/18

20% of all Oakham cases are under 18 113 total cases. It is he second highest grouping. 

25 cases if 50-59 is the highest population with + cases

In collaboration with Rutland BOH they plan to open COVID clinic of vaccine. BOH motions to have clinic in town if possible . votes unanimously.

Interterm Public health nurse resigned in June 2021 – BOH requires a PHN to complete these duties. BOH to communicate to BOS about the need to contract or hire a nurse monitor maven and support contract tracing COVID 19 efforts. .

Antigen Tests

BOH received an invitation to participate in local antigen testing as it was in between a meeting the chair opted in for 200.

Recommend a post on explaining what an antigen test dose.

BOH votes to support unanimously the procurement of tests and offering to the community.

Will update auto reply to include steps for antigen testing. 

Will develop formal process for requesting and completion

Since starting we have tested seven people

BOH plans to order more

Face Coverings - use in Town Buildings and Oakham Center School

Chair believes that in all town buildings and locations we recommend the use of face covering, unless employees are alone their desks for vaccinated and an unvaccinated induvial.

Votes passes with a 2/3 votes which recommends the wearing of masks in public location

Flu Clinics Fall/Winter

Ani will take the lead on possible influenza vaccine

States offered LBOH epi pens and Oakham will receive 4

Administrative Assistant posting/vacancy

Ellen Herlihy would volunteer to assist with scanning

Consult with BOS about volunteers

Recycling Day/Hazardous Materials Day/Sharps update

Chair received email informing him he was a subject of an audit as result of the recycling day.

Informed that the check to dumpster services would have to be paid by the town of Oakham and come out of the 2020 town budget. 

Stericycle noted with insufficient funds to pay total invoice
