February 2023 Board of Health Meeting
Wednesday, February 15, 2023 - 7:00pm

Approve Minutes from January 2023 Meeting
New Business
Informational: North Brookfield has invited Oakham residents to participate in a hazardous waste day on March 25th for a fee. This will not include latex paint. A volunteer would be needed from Oakham.
CPR Training Equipment and Loaning Out - Vote possible.
Sign out sheet and an agreement to accept responsibility. This period of time would one week.
Limit to nonprofit organizations
Ariana moves to allow this. Diana and Aaron second.

BP Clinic - Vote possible
Miriam Nyante would assist in the blood pressure clinic
Blood pressure equipment
Need three blood pressure cuffs
Will also purchase stethoscopes and other supplies blood pressure clinics
Ariana to contact Council on aging to coordinate clinic.
Board of Health Fees - vote possible
BOH fees set in 2019 based upon the agent needing to be paid to complete tasks.
Diana will research fees of other boards of health
State is paying for many of the inspections.
Chair suggests that fees are
Trevor- BOH sets fees but they cannot be revenue generating. Suggest capturing fee into revolving account.

North Brookfield can no longer collaborate on this position due r/t benefits.
Recent Complaints/Communications - votes possible
21 Coldbrook Road: Board of health through reginal collaborative is attempting to address, contact has made with no response.
162 Crawford Road: Board of health through reginal collaborative is attempting to address. Reports have been made. Access has been granted after initial inspection. Oakham BOH supports a written notice subject to recommendations to collaborative.
Tomlinson Road- The police department has made multiple request to BOH with resident due to health concerns. Chair forwarded most recent complaint to the collaborative. Collaborative has reached out several times with no response.
Update on Shared Services with Leicester
Continued collaborative approach due to multiple benefits noted for Oakham BOH.
Recycling Day
Approved by BOS, Diana to design T shirts. Masterminds in Auburn.
T shirts to be given to participants to register online (Aaron) as an incentive to participate
Can accept checks made out to Town of Oakham
Chair of BOS came to meeting and BOS is finalizing policy & procedure on receipts of funds.
2023-2024 Budget Proposal
No feedback from BOS on request to this date.
Review of any permit requests or fees received or payments made
Chair received checks for 600 and completed a turn over. No invoices from septic agent.
