Oakham Roadway Cleanup for Earth Day

This year's Earth Day is on Monday, April 22nd.  We would like to invite Oakham residents to join us in a roadside clean-up day, before all the ticks and grasses grow too high.  Please help us and pick up litter on our roadways on April 20th from 10am-2pm.  We will have a dumpster available for drop off behind the municipal buildings - Fire, Police and Highway.  Blue trash bags and rubber gloves will be available for roadside debris that can be placed in them.  This is only for roadside trash that can go into your regular trash please.  No electronics, tires, mattresses, or other items not usually disposed of in your weekly trash.  T-shirts for volunteers will be provided as supplies last. Non-latex gloves and trash bags will be available on the morning of behind the Police Station and at the Town Hall and Library Tuesday-Friday the week before.  

Special thanks to Dumpster Services of Spencer for the donation of the dumpster and it's trash disposal. 

We will be happy to sign community service hour forms for school, if you reach out to us before the event and bring paperwork.

We will also be holding our Recycling Day on June 8th from 9-12, where we will be accepting electronics, mattresses, medical sharps, medications, as we have in years past.  More information on this event will be shared in the coming weeks. We will be seeking volunteers to assist with this event as well.
