How do I become a member of the Fire Department?
Having thoughts of becoming a Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the town of Oakham? We are here to answer your questions. It is as easy as filling out a member application and scheduling an interview or walk through. Not ready to join, but still want more information, that is ok too. You can still schedule a walk through with one of our Fire Department Officers.
Becoming a Firefighter or EMT is not for everyone. We go in when most people go out. There are times where the job can be physically and mentally demanding. There are also times that are emotionally rewarding. For us, the smiles on the faces of the people in our community we have helped makes it all worth the while.
